Hibbard, Marlene (Marriage – 2 May 1953)

Miss Marlene Hibbard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlowe Hibbard, and Kenneth Schulz, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Schulz, exchanged marriage vows at Zion Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, May 2, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. The bride was attended by Grace Schulz of Stevens Point as maid of honor and Mrs. Vernon Boss of Curtiss and Nancy Roth of Abbotsford as bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Donald Schulz of Madison, Vernon Boss of Curtiss and Wayne Hibbard of Colby. Mrs. Howard Rannow, soloist, sang the “Lord’s Prayer,” and “Wedding Prayer.”

The bride was attired in a white satin gown with a fitted bodice, net yoke, lace panels in skirt, chapel train, long sleeves pointed at the wrist and buttoned back. Her bouquet consisted of white carnations and red roses.

The maid of honor wore a dress of yellow net over taffeta with a strapless lace top and a short lace jacket and picture hat. Her bouquet consisted of a white carnation and aqua daisies, tied with an aqua ribbon.

The bridesmaids wore dresses styled identical to the maid of honor’s, in pink and aqua respectively. Their bouquets consisted of a white carnation and yellow and pink daisies.

The bride’s mother wore a navy blue dress with black accessories and the groom’s mother wore an aqua dress with black accessories.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The couple is at home at the home of the groom’s parents where the groom helps operate his father’s farm.

Out of town people here for the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Beal and family of Franklin Park, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Sorenson of Marion, Ind., Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Schulz of Kewaskum, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Schulz and Linda and Aleda Feind and Irene Feind of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Maynard Bauer, Dale and Sidney, of Dixon, Ill., Mrs. George Mewer of Ashland, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Meyer and Vera of Marengo, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Meyer of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. William Stecker of New Richmond.
