Uhlig, Yvonne (Marriage – 27 June 1953)

Miss Yvonne Uhlig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Uhlig of Abbotsford and Adrian N. Strom of Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Strom of Ashby, Minn., were united in marriage Saturday afternoon at the home of the bride’s parents, Rev. F. H. Sprengler reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Norbert Hartl of Loyal, sister of the bride, was matron of honor and Miss Muriel Sprotte of Milwaukee and Miss Yvonne Eggert of Wausau were bridesmaids. Attending the groom were Norbert Hartl, the bride’s brother-in-law, as best man, and Floyd Klemetson of Curtiss, uncle of the bride, and James Field of Minneapolis, as groomsman.

The bride selected for her wedding a white satin gown featuring a fitted bodice with a lace yoke, long nylon net sleeves, a lace peplum, and a double layer of nylon net over satin that extended into a long train. Attached to the headdress of tiny seed pearls was her finger-tip veil. She carried a crescent-shaped bouquet of red and white roses.

After a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, the couple left on a trip to Northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Black Hills. They will make their home in Minneapolis.

The bride is a graduate of Abbotsford High School and the groom received his education at Elbow Lake, Minn. The bride is employed in the Honeywell Register Co. and the groom is a coach carpenter on the Soo Line Railroad in the Shoreham Shops in Minneapolis.
