Sedlack, Agnes (Marriage – 27 Aug. 1953)

Miss Agnes Sedlack of Oshkosh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Sedlack of Colby, and Lavern Habeck, also of Oshkosh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Habeck of Dorchester, were married last Thursday morning at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Oshkosh, Rev. Donald Marquart officiating at the ceremony. Miss Alice Sedlack of Colby, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Miss Mildred Habeck, sister of the groom, and Miss Yvonne Gagnon, both of Oshkosh, were bridesmaids. Ed Yost of Winneconne was best man. Arthur Habeck, brother of the groom, and Jerome Panske, both of Oshkosh, were groomsmen.

The bride wore a gown of misty nylon tulle and Chantilly lace over satin. Beautiful appliqués of roses cascaded down the flowing skirt which was topped with a lace bodice of nylon net yoke. Her bridal bouquet consisted of white roses with tufted white carnations.

The maid of honor wore a white nylon net over a taffeta gown. The lace of the bodice and jacket matched the lace apron topping the full nylon net skirt which also had a net bustle. White carnations fashioned the colonial style bouquet. The two bridesmaids wore dresses designed like the maid of honor’s, Miss Habeck in yellow and carrying yellow and white carnations and Miss Gagnon in orchid and carrying orchid and white carnations.

Following the marriage ceremony and nuptial high mass, a breakfast was served at the home of Mr. and Mrs. August Panske in Oshkosh. Later in the day, a reception was held and supper served at the home of the bride’s parents in Colby.

On their return from a wedding trip to an unknown destination, the Lavern Habecks will be at home to their friends at 879 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh. Mr. Habeck is employed in Oshkosh by Kieckhafer Aeromarine Motors, Inc. Both received their education in schools in Dorchester.

Relatives and friends from various cities throughout the state attended the wedding rites and festivities.
