Schreiner, Ramona Lou (Marriage – 24 Oct. 1953)

Miss Ramona Lou Schreiner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Schreiner of Edgar, and Albert Jirschele, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jirschele of Tomahawk, were united in marriage on Saturday morning at St. John’s Catholic church in Edgar, Rev. Oscar J. Cramer reading the marriage ceremony.

White satin fashioned the bridal gown which featured a lace-covered bodice with long pointed sleeves. The bodice closed with tiny buttons down the back. A lace panel down the front and a V-shaped panel which extended into a full-length train accented the skirt. The sweetheart style headpiece trimmed with seed pearls held the full-length veil. A white orchid centered with pink and white roses and carnations studded streamers composed the bride’s bouquet.

The bride was attended by Miss Dolores Albrecht of Athens as maid of honor, Misses Doreen and Virginia Schreiner, sisters of the bride, and Miss Esther Jirschele of Edgar, sister of the groom, as bridal aides, Jeanie Jirschele, niece of the groom, flower girl; Mikie Peters of Burnett, cousin of the bride, ringbearer.

The bride’s attendants wore gowns of taffeta with satin bodices, net overskirts and bolero jackets in colors of salmon, peacock blue, light pink and light green, respectively, with matching sweetheart bonnets. Their bouquets were composed of fall flowers. A floor-length gown of pink marquisette, fashioned apron-style, was worn by the flower girl. A heart-shaped pillow, trimmed with lace and satin ribbon and centering two small hearts, which were made by the bride, was carried by the ring bearer.

Neil Jirschele of Marshfield was best man for his brother. Groomsmen were Jonny Jirschele of Tomahawk, brother of the groom, and Galen Reinhardt of Stetsonville. Francis and Varnell Schreiner, brother of the bride, and Jerome Albrecht were ushers.

A reception was held in the afternoon and evening at the home of the bride’s parents with dinner and supper served in the parish hall.

The bride attended St. John’s Catholic school of Edgar and the groom attended St. Mary’s School and Tomahawk High School. Both are employed in the office of the Lewis Container Corporation in Colby.

After a honeymoon to an undisclosed destination, the couple will reside in Colby.
