Thursday, 07/01/1954 Molle, Darlene (Marriage – 30 June 1954) Miss Darlene Molle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Molle of Unity, and Glenn Martin Rachu, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Rachu of Unity, were united in marriage at a double ring ceremony Wednesday morning, June 30, at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby, Rev. Frank Brickl officiating. Cairgene Molle of Unity, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor and bridesmaids were Darlene Rachu of Unity, sister of the groom, and Charlotte Mohan of Spencer, a friend of the bride. The groom was attended by Ronald Rachu of Unity, a brother of the groom, as best man and Charles Jicinsky of Unity, a friend of the groom, and Wayne Molle of Unity, a cousin of the bride, as groomsmen. Ushers were Milton Laabs of Owen, a cousin of the bride, and Clifford Wentzel of Curtiss, a cousin of the groom. The bride was attired in a dress of Chantilly lace over heavy satin net, a Peter Pan collar with sequins, lace sleeves coming to a point at the wrists, lace covered buttons down the back. The top was a nylon yoke with sequins coming to a V-shape below the yoke. Sequins and pearls formed the headpiece which held the fingertip veil edged with a wide border of Chantilly lace. Her bouquet consisted of red roses and white carnations with rose buds. Her attendants wore similar styled strapless gowns, in green, yellow and orchid, respectively, with fitted bodices of Chantilly lace over taffeta topped with two rows of pleated nylon net. Their small matching lace jackets had pointed collars and short sleeves. Tiers of nylon net over taffeta formed the full length skirts. Their colonial bouquets consisted of assorted colors of carnations. The mother of the bride and groom and the grand mothers wore corsages of white carnations on their dresses. A breakfast, dinner and reception were held at the home of the bride’s parents for 150 guests, and, in the evening, a dance was held at the Colby Pavilion. The couple left on a honeymoon in Northern Wisconsin. Guests were from Unity, Owen, Curtiss, Oshkosh, Stratford, Edgar, Marshfield, Fenwood, Wausau, Rhinelander, Colby, Menasha, Wis., and Menominee, Mich. The bride is a member of the last graduating class of the Unity High School. The groom is employed by the St. Croix Corporation.
