Podevels, Albert Mrs. (31 May 1902 – 14 Mar. 1954)

Mrs. Albert Podevels, Sr., died at the age of 51 years after a lingering illness at 6:30 A.M. Sunday in the Marshfield hospital where she was admitted two weeks ago.

The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home where a brief service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. today, Thursday, and then the body will be taken to the Peace Lutheran church in the town of Frankfort to repose from 1:30 to 2:00 P.M. when services will be conducted, Rev. J. H. Kolberg officiating, and internment will be made in the parish cemetery.

Mrs. Podevels was born on May 31, 1902, in the town of Hull. She was married to Albert Podevels in Colby on August 10, 1920. They lived on a farm in the town of Hull for several years and about 30 years ago moved onto a farm in the town of Frankfort. Nine years ago, Mrs. Podevels’ health began to fail and her condition grew worse until she became severely handicapped physically.

Surviving are her husband; her mother, Mrs. Agnes Schorer; three sons, Melvin Podevels of Hales Corners, Harold Podevels of the town of Hull and Albert Podevels of Frankfort; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred (Viola) Nickish of Sheboygan, Mrs. Frank (Florence) Wensauer and Mrs. Elmer (Violet) Zander of Wausau and Mrs. Ferdinand (Evelyn) Schillinger of Rudolph; five brothers, Roland Schorer of Los Angeles, Calif., Elmer Schorer of Wausau, Fred Schorer of Colby, Ervin Schorer of Clearfield, Utah, and Robert Schorer of Easton, Minn.; and five grand children.

Mrs. Podevels was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship’s circle was to her a large one. Many will miss her friendly smile and welcome greeting.

Funeral services for Mrs. Albert Podevels, Sr., of the town of Frankfort, whose death was reported last week, were held last Thursday afternoon at the Peace Lutheran church in the town of Frankfort, Rev. J. H. Kolberg officiating, and internment was made in the parish cemetery. The Peace Lutheran choir sang during the services.

Pall bearers were Armond and Harvey Barts, Harry Swaboda, Emil Wolk, Richard Goldschmidt and Otto Brehm. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Merle Habick, Marjorie Podevels, Mrs. Bernard Dahlke, Marion Schultz and Maureen and Janice Arnds.

Out of town people here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Nickish, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wensauer and Mr. and Mrs. Ernst Kading of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kading of Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Zanders, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schorer and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Zanders of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand Schillinger and family of Rudolph, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schorer, Ed Podevels and Mr. and Mrs. John Janzig of Minneapolis, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Podevels and family of Hales Corners, Mrs. Herbert Wink of Waupaca, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Roeglin, Mrs. John Mesching, Mrs. Ed Kaisershot and girls and Mrs. Louise Roeglin of Milwaukee, Mrs. Gusta Henkel, Mrs. E.
