Heintz, Otto (28 Sept. 1880 – 25 May 1954)

Otto Heintz of the town of Hull died at the Marshfield hospital Tuesday morning at 9:30 A.M., at the age of 73 years, a rare brain disease being the cause of his death. He had been ill ten days and was in the Marshfield hospital five days.

The body is reposing in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home where services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Mr. Heintz was born on September 28, 1880, in the town of Hull where he lived practically all his life, with the exception of ten years in Unity – from 1892 to 1902. He married Hulda Wendel in Spencer on April 5, 1904. He taught the Cherokee school for eight years and then moved onto his present farm home in the town of Hull.

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. John Coates of Cherokee; two brothers, Louis of Armstrong Creek and Max Heintz of Cherokee. Four sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Mr. Heintz served as school clerk of the Colby Union Free High School for 37 years and was well and favorably known throughout the district. He always took a keen interest in civic affairs, especially in the schools, and, being of a congenial and friendly disposition, he had many friends who will miss his pleasant smile and friendly greeting.

Funeral services for Otto Heintz, whose death was reported last week, were held at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby Friday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock, Rev. Harvey Schall officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Henry Aderhold, Oscar Voelker, Perry Konrad, Victor Johnson, Alfred Hein and Edwin Grauman. The quartet that sang consisted of Mrs. Howard Crossgrove, Mrs. C. F. Cross, Harry Bender and C. A. Nelsen.
