Mrs. George Ebben passed away at her home in this village on Tuesday morning, after an illness of several months duration at the age of 63.

Funeral services will be held at nine o’clock on Thursday morning, Aug. 14 at St. Bernard’s Church. The body will lie in state at the home until that time. An obituary will be published in the “Courier” next week.

Mrs. George Ebben passed away at her home here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 1941, having reached the age of 63 years, 2 months and 7 days. She suffered a stroke about a year ago which rendered her helpless.

Antonette Verkuilen was born in Hollandtown, Brown Co., Wis., on June 5, 1878. She came to this community on April 1, 1899 and moved on a farm south of Stanley in the town of Worden (Clark Co.). She was united in marriage to Geo. Ebben on Oct. 3, 1900 at Stanley, Wis. In 1901 she moved to Thorp with her husband and this has been her home until death.

She was a charter member of the Christian Mothers Society of St. Bernard’s Church.

She leaves to mourn, her husband and seven children, five sons, Harvey of Thorp, Leo of Kohler, Lester of Fort Atkinson, Roy of Kohler and Delton of Stanley; two daughters, (Francis) Mrs. E. Primeau of Colby and (Dorothy) Mrs. Harold Parker of Owen; one brothers, Albert Verkuilen of Stanley; three sisters, Mrs. N. Dionne of New Frankton, Wis., Mrs. Barbara Reuter of Wausau and Mrs. Fred M. Schmidt of Thorp, and fifteen grandchildren. One son, Arthur, died in April 1935, and one daughter, Regina, died in infancy.

Rev. A.M. Muckerheide conducted services for the deceased at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church here at nine o’clock Thursday morning and interment was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Art Jacques, Alfred Kass, Walter Grabon, Andrew Herman, John Hickman and Nick Benzschawel Jr.

Out of town relatives to attend the funeral of Mrs. George Ebben here last Thursday were: Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ebben and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Ebben of Kohler; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ebben of Fort Atkinson; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Parker of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Primeau of Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Delton Ebben, Mr. and Mrs. A. Verkuilen, Frank Ebben and son, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Ebben, of Stanley; Father C.A. Dionne and mother of New Frankton, Wis.; Mrs. Barbara Reuter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Taggart of Wausau; Mrs. Martin Verkuilen and daughter, Mrs. M. Springer of Eland, Wis.; Mrs. Anna Arms, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schreiber of Eau Claire; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wilcenski of Gilman.
