Kleckner, Kreszens (3 MAY 1873 – 21 DEC 1941)
Mrs. Kreszens Kleckner passed away at her home Sunday, Dec. 21, 1941, having reached the age of 68 years, 7 months and 18 days, heart failure being the cause of her death.
Kreszens Schuier was born in Richt Oberpfalz, Germany, on May 3, 1873. At the age of 26 years she came to this country and lived with an uncle, Mike Brunner, on a farm northeast of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.). On Nov. 27, 1900, she was united in marriage to Ferdinand Kleckner, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church. For 20 years they lived on an 80-acre farm two miles northeast of Thorp, and in 1919 they retired and moved to a six-acre farm one mile north of the village. Her husband preceded her in death in 1938.
Funeral services were held in the St. Bernard’s Catholic Church Friday morning at 9 o’clock, the Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating, and her body was laid to rest in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.
She leaves to mourn her untimely death four children, Fred Jr. of Glen Flora; Veronica (Mrs. R.G. Dale) of Eau Claire, and John of Thorp; one sister, Mrs. John Weber, Sanborn, N.D.; two brothers, George Schier of Oberpfalz, Germany, John Schuier of Hurley, Wis., and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Frank Smitke, Mike Ramer, Jake Smith, John Schnell, Oren Nye and Ed Weller.
Out of town relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Weber, Sanborn, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Weber, Sanborn, N.D., John Schuier, Hurley, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Kleckner, Chippewa Falls, Wis.
