Dins, Otto A. (14 Aug. 1882 – 15 Feb. 1955)

Otto A. Dins died suddenly at his home in Colby Tuesday evening at 9:30 o’clock, a heart attack being the cause of his death, at the age of 72 years. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 19, at 2:00 o’clock at Zion Lutheran church, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Mrs. Dins was born in the town of Colby on August 14, 1882. He married Louise Schumann on October 20, 1909, in St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran church, Green Grove. The couple engaged in farming in the town of Colby until five years ago when they retired and moved to the city of Colby.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Laurence (Adeline) Krueger of Marshfield, Mrs. Walter (Bertha) Schauer of Spencer and Miss Dorothy Dins at home; three sons, Frederick on the home farm in the town of Colby, Otto Harold, address unknown, and Rudy Dins of Sheboygan; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Staffeil, Mrs. Walter Wiersig and Mrs. William Ebert, all of Colby; one brother, Albert Dins of Colby; seven grand children. One sister, Mrs. Louise Schultz, preceded him in death in February 1954.

Funeral services for Otto A. Dins were held at Zion Lutheran church Saturday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann officiating and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Grace Schulz sang “The Lord is My Shepherd” and “Abide With Me” with Mrs. Priem as organist. Mr. Dins was one of the few who was affiliated with this church from the time he was born until his death. Pall bearers were Eli Krueger, a grand son, and Billy Frome, Paul Dins, Roger Staffeil, Robert Ebert and D. O. Wiersig. Flowers were in charge of Audrey Krueger, a grand daughter, and JoAnne Markus, Mrs. Gordon Mellenthin and Mrs. Marcia Heppner.

Out of town people here for the services were Mr. and Mrs. George Atharp of Shcboygan, Miss Amelia Giese of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Krueger and family and Mr. and Mrs Ted Ketterl and daughter, Carole Lou of Marshfeld, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Johnson of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Laurence Koffarnus, Robert Ebert and Miller Babcok of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schauer and children of Spencer, and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Dins of Edgar.
