Mielke, Louis C. (20 Jan. 1904 – 26 Nov. 1955)

Louis C. Mielke, a former local resident, age 51, was found dead in his car Saturday morning in the garage at his residence at Marshfield. Dr. R. H. Wink, deputy Wood county coroner, who investigated, reported the motor of the car was cold but that there were fumes in the garage. An autopsy was conducted to determine the cause of death.

Mr. Mielke was last seen about midnight Friday. His wife discovered his body. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Immanuel Lutheran church, Rev. G. M. Krueger officiating, and burial was made in Hillside cemetery.

Mr. Mielke was born in Rib Lake on January 20, 1904, where he received his education. At the age of 18 he went to Milwaukee where he lived until his marriage to Alice Hein on August 18, 1927, at Colby. After their marriage, the couple lived on a farm, east of Colby, until 1939, when they moved to Marshfield where Mr. Mielke was employed as a millwright at the Roddis Company.

Surviving are his wife; four children, Mrs. Ray (Geraldine) Cordell of Takoma Park, Md., Mrs. Jerry (Marlous) Gonering, Galen and Shela Mielke, all of Marshfield; two grand children and four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Elsie Ramsey of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Anna Schneider of Marshfield, Mrs. Clarence (Emma) Grund of Merrill, Fred of Rib Lake, Mrs. Charles (Martha) Feldbrugge and August of Milwaukee and Carl of Marshfield.
