On Wednesday, June 3, 1942, at four o’clock in the afternoon, Miss Norma Boie, daughter of Mrs. George W. Boie, of Eau Claire, became the wife of Lt. Vernon C. Ramberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ramberg of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

The very beautiful and impressive ceremony took place in the Methodist Church of Eau Claire, the Rev. Fred J. Jordan officiating. The altar was banked with peonies and iris in pink and white. The bride entered alone, preceded by Miss Margaret Sather of Eau Claire, maid of honor, and Miss Ruth Holmes of Minneapolis, bridesmaid. She was gowned in imported white organdy velour fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, with a fingertip veil held in place by a tiara of pearls. Her only ornament was a string of pearls, a gift of the groom. She carried a shower bouquet of Briarcliff roses, gardenias and baby breath. The bride’s attendants wore matching gowns of pink organdy and carried colonial bouquets.

Lt. Ramberg wore the summer service uniform and was attended by Mr. George Boie of Eau Claire, brother of the bride, as best man. The ushers were Norman Olson of Augusta and Eldred Winger of Lublin, Wis.

Miss Jennie Hanson presided at the organ and preceding the ceremony played a program including: “On Wings of Song: by Mendelssohn, “Romance” by Swendsen, “Serenada” by Toselli, “At Dawning” by Cadman, “Venetian Love Song” by Nevins and “Sunset Song” by Hatch.

Ellard Clifton sang “Because” and “I Love Thee,” accompanied by Miss Hanson. The processional used was “Bridal Chorus” from Lohengrin by Wagner and the recessional was from “Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Mendelssohn.

Miss Boie is a graduate of the Eau Claire State Teachers College and has taught in the public schools of Eau Claire and has also had a class in piano for the past few years. Lt. Ramberg is also a graduate of the Eau Claire State Teachers College and has taught in the high schools at Augusta and at Lake Geneva before entering the services in 1941. He received his commission as lieutenant in April of this year at Ft. Belvoir Engineering School and has been retained there as an instructor.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlors for about one hundred guests. Peonies and iris in pink and white were used on the tea table were Mrs. Thomas Downs of Rhinelander, formerly Miss Eileen Ellis, and the Misses Arline Clifton of Eau Claire and Eleanore Youderian of Madison. Also assisting Mrs. Boie were the Mesdames J. Richardson, A. Clifton and George Hoffman.

The bride’s mother wore navy blue figured crepe with matching hat and the groom’s mother was attired in gold and black crepe with white accessories. Both wore shoulder bouquets of gardenias.
