At an 8:00 o’clock nuptial high mass, Father S. Lengowski joined in a double ring ceremony, Evelyn Margaret, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sabrowsky of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Robert W. Wachtl, Sgt., U.S. Army, son of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Wachtl, of Holder, on Saturday, June 20th, 1942, at St. Hedwig’s Church.

The bride was attired in a white sheer minon gown, with lace insertions, fingertip veil, with a seed pearl tiara. She carried a bouquet of cream and pink roses. Her attendants were Mrs. Earl Sabrowsky, matron of honor, who wore a sheer maize gown and carried yellow carnations and roses. The bridesmaid, Miss Grace Wachtl, sister of the groom, wore a sheer pink gown and carried pink carnations and roses.

The groom was dressed in uniform. The best man was Maurice Wachtl, brother of the groom. The bride was given away by her brother, Earl Sabrowsky, groomsman. Both best man and groomsman wore blue suits and carnation boutonnieres.

A wedding breakfast was served to the bridal party and a wedding dinner to the immediate relatives at the bride’s home in Thorp. A supper, served for 75 guests, was held at the groom’s home. A wedding dance was held for the young couple at the Halder Community Hall.

Out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. John C. Wachtl and family of Halder, Louis Sabrowsky of Pin Island, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Forster of Tigerton, Mrs. Frank Mischock and son LaRon of Manitowoc, Mrs. Grant Grassl and children, Mr. and Mrs. R.W. Reschlein, Maurice and Allen Wachtl and Sgt Robert L. Kogele of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sabrowsky and son, Mrs. Frieda Mayer and son Robert, of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wojcuchowski of Athens, Mrs. Frank Chesak of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Brietenfeldt and family of Tigerton, Mr. and Mrs. Milan Sousek of Caroline, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Sousek of Leopolis, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sousek of Gresham, Mrs. Hardy Hoffman of Leopolis.

The bride is a graduate of the local high school and the Marathon Co. Normal and has taught in Clark Co. Schools. After three years of college the groom enlisted in the Army and is now located at the Recruiting and Induction Station in Milwaukee.

After July 1st the newlyweds will be at home to friends at 1104 N. Van Buren St., Milwaukee, Wis.
