Olejniczak, Rose (12 AUG 1873 – 11 AUG 1942)

Mrs. Rose Olejniczak passed away at her farm home in the Town of Roosevelt on Aug. 11, 1942, after a short illness. She had reached the age of 68 years, 11 months and 30 days.

Rose Novak was born in Poland on Aug. 12, 1873. She came to America at the age of 17 years and resided for several years in Joliet, Ill. She was united in marriage to Joseph Olejniczak at Chicago and in 1904 came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) with her husband and located on a farm north of here which has ince been her home. Mr. Olejniczak died sixteen years ago.

She was the mother of a family of nine children, all of whom survive here: five sons, Matt, Andrew, Albert and frank of Thorp, and Michael of Kenosha; four daughters, Agnes, Mrs. Joe Winiarczyk, Cecelia, Mrs. Adolph Burzynski, Martha, Mrs. Adam Szerlong, all of Thorp, and Josephine, Mrs. Anton Przybylski of Kenosha; three sisters, Mrs. Celia Nytry of Stevens Point, Mrs. Barbara, Wielgorecki, Chicago, and Mrs. Sophie Wisniewski of Joliet, Ill.; twenty-five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death three years ago.

Father J.F. Polaszewski conducted the funeral services at St. Mary’s Church at Lublin on Saturday morning last at ten o’clock for deceased and the remains were laid to rest in the nearby parish cemetery. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Florian and Edward Burzynski, Frank Winiarczyk, Joseph and Stanley Olejniczak and Marion C. Szerlong.
