Sachse, Arlyle Eileen (Marriage – 27 Apr. 1949)

Miss Arlyle Eileen Sachse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Sachse of Colby, and Donald Schultz, son of Mrs. Joseph Schultz of Loyal, exchanged marriage vows at a candle light ceremony at Zion Lutheran church in Colby Wednesday, April 27th, at 2:00 P.M., Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Reuben Zimmerman of Loyal, sister of the groom, was maid of honor and Miss Viola Kozik, a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by Reuben Zimmerman of Loyal and Laverne Prange of Ridgeland, a cousin of the bride. Norman Sill, cousin of the bride, sang “Jesus, Lead Thou On” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Miss Jean Coull, organist.

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin trimmed with lace and a long train with orange blossoms, Bertha collar and hoop skirt, headdress and fingertip veil and a gold cross, a gift of the groom. Her shower bouquet consisted of pink roses. Her attendants wore identical dresses of blue taffeta, trimmed with lace, Bertha collar, lace trimmed fish tail bustle in the back and hoop skirt, hats and gloves to match. Their colonial bouquets consisted of pink and white carnations. Both wore a gold-shaped locket, gifts of the bride.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, covers being laid for 100 guests. Home decorations consisted of blue and white streamers and bells.

A dance was held at Walter’s pavilion.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin, and, on their return, will be at home on the groom’s farm near Loyal.

The bride is a graduate of Colby High School and was employed as bookkeeper at the Loos Machine Shop in Colby. The groom graduated from Unity High School and was in the Marines, stationed at Okinawa, Guam, China and Japan.
