Vandeberg, Jeanette (Marriage – 21 May 1949)

Miss Jeanette Vandeberg, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Vandeberg of Loyal, and Donald Will, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Will of Colby, were united in marriage at St. Anthony’s Catholic church at Loyal, Saturday, May 21, Rev. Aloys Zinthefer reading the marriage ceremony. Mrs. Ralph Will, sister in law of the groom, was matron of honor, and Doris Will, sister of the groom, and Geraldine Haas, friend of the bride, were the bridesmaids for the occasion. The groom was attended by his brother, Ralph Will, as best man and Ervin Schilling and John Brill of Colby, friends of the bride and groom, as groomsmen. Shirley Vandeberg, sister of the bride, was the flower girl.

The bride was attired in a gown of white slipper satin, sweetheart neckline with a lace trim styling the bodice and long sleeves. Her skirt was brought up in front with lace set in and fell into a long train, trimmed with wide lace. Her finger-tip veil was held in place with a sweetheart headpiece and pearl seed. Her bouquet consisted of pink roses, white calla lilies and lilies of the valley. The matron of honor wore a dress of white lace with a net skirt and her wrist corsage consisted of daisies and roses. Doris Will wore a dress of blue lace with a net skirt and her wrist corsage consisted of pink roses and yellow daisies. Geraldine Haas wore a yellow gown with lace and net skirt with sweetheart neckline and her wrist corsage consisted of daisies and roses. The flower girl wore a dress of white ninon and carried a colonial style bouquet of daisies and roses.

A reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Will where dinner was served 90 relatives and friends. A wedding dance was given in the evening at Walter’s pavilion at Colby.

The couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin and will be at home after May 30 on the farm of the groom’s father.

The groom is a graduate of Colby High School class of 1945. The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School. class of 1947, and, before her marriage, was employed at the Togs-For-Tots, Marshfield.
