Haas, Elaine Lorraine (Marriage – 23 July 1949)

Miss Elaine Lorraine Haas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Haas of Unity, Wis., route 1, and Jerome Lloyd Schultz, son of Mrs. Arma Schultz of Colby, were united in marriage at St. Mary’s rectory at Colby, Saturday, July 23rd, Rev. N. B. Beschta reading the marriage ceremony. Helen Haas, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Maxine Farning, a friend of the bride and groom, was bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Walter Schultz, as best man and George Haas, brother of the bride.

The bride was attired in a gown of white satin with lace inserts and also wore a double strand of pearls and ear rings, gifts of the groom. Her bouquet consisted of pink roses and white swansonias. Her attendants wore identical gowns of pink ninon with white velveray trim and also strands of pearls and ear rings, gifts of the bride. Their bouquets consisted of yellow roses and white swansonias. The bride’s mother wore a gray print crepe with a corsage of red and yellow roses and the groom’s mother wore a blue print crepe with a corsage of red and yellow roses.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents which was decorated with pink and white streamers and wedding bells. In the evening, a wedding dance was held at Walter’s pavilion.

The newlyweds left on a trip to Southern Wisconsin and Illinois and will be at home after July 30th at Unity, Wis., route 1. The groom is employed as a truck driver for the H. H. Motor Co.

Guests from out of town here for the wedding were from Superior, Ashland, Bear Creek, Clintonville, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Kohler, Cascade, Chicago, Wausau, Schofield, Abbotsford, New Lisbon, Edgar, Wisconsin Rapids, Stetsonville and Stratford.
