Okonski, Marie (21 NOV 1942)

Saturday, Nov. 21, 1942, a very lovely wedding took place in Chicago at the Five Holy Martyrs Church at 2:45 in the afternoon when Miss Marie Okonski, daughter of Mrs. Cecelia Okonski, became the bride of Edward Wynimko, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wynimko. Both were formerly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Frank Blaszczyk was best man and wore a tuxedo. The bridesmaid, Miss Victoria Wynimko, sister of the groom, was attired in a raisin color taffeta gown with a swooping skirt with gathered tiers. She wore a peacock blue tiara and matching blusher. Her bouquet was of yellow pompons.

Mrs. Alois Klak, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She was attired in a peacock blue gown, same style as that of the bridesmaid. She wore a raisin colr tiara with a matching blusher and carried a bouquet of yellow pompons.

The other attending couples were Miss Sophie Czahor and Walter Markowski and Mr. and Mrs. Victor Golek. They were attired in the same as the first couple.

Lorrayne Czuk, nice of the bride, acted as flower girl. Her peacock blue gown was the same as that of the bridesmaids. Her bouquet was pink roses and yellow pompons.

The bride was attired in a white slipper satin gown, trimmed with a silk Chantilly type lace and a three yard train. She wore a fingertip veil with a beaded tiara. Her only jewelry was a pearl necklace, a gift from the groom. Her bouquet was of white chrysanthemums and orchids.

The reception was held at the Lenchards Hall at seven o’clock.

The newlyweds will live in Chicago where the groom is employed in a defense factory.

Out of town guests were: Stanley Rutka of Milwaukee; Mrs. Joseph Leja of Stanley and Miss Victoria Wynimko of Thorp.
