Fecker, William (3 Mar. 1872 – 9 Nov. 1949)
William Fecker, a retired Abbotsford cheesemaker, suffered a sudden heart attack and died at his home last week Wednesday evening at the age of 77 years. He had been working around the house during the day, and, according to his wife, suddenly “went to sleep” as he was about to eat supper. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at St. Bernard’s Catholic church in Abbotsford, Rev. Raymond Schultz officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were John, Harry, Clarence and Ervin Fecker, Norman Guetschow and John Frinak.
Surviving besides his widow, are three daughters, Mrs. George Kass and Mrs. Dwight Schumaker of Milwaukee and Mrs. Edward Preschel of Peoria, Ill., a brother, George A. Gecker of Colby, and four sisters, Mrs. Andrew Kauffman, Mrs. Pauline Schad and Mrs. Anna Koenig of Manitowoc and Mrs. Gust Martens of Milwaukee. There are six grand children.
A native of Manitowoc county, he was born March 3rd, 1872. He was married at School Hill, a village in that county, in 1898 to Miss Angeline Schaller. He had worked in cheese factories in the Abbotsford area for 28 years and had moved to the village 12 years ago upon retirement. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
