Hodd, Ethel F. (12 JUN 1942)
A beautiful ceremony took place at the Methodist Church at Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on Friday, June 12, 1942, at 2:30 o’clock. Church decorations were blue and white with ferns and roses.
When Miss Ethel Fern Hodd of Withee was united in marriage to Harris Johnson of Medford, the marriage service was read by Rev. James Irish, in the presence of immediate relatives.
The bride wore a heavy white satin bridal gown and flinger-length veil with a wreath of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of white roses.
Mrs. Gladys Hodd, sister-in-law of the bride, was bridesmaid. She wore a floor length gown of baby blue sheer georgette and a crown veil and carried blossoms of blue.
Little June Johnson, niece of the bride, was ring bearer and flower girl. She wore a floor-length gown of blue trim organdy.
The groom and best man wore conventional blue suits.
The bride is a graduate of the Withee High School and also of the Wausau Academy School of Beauty Culture. The groom is employed as a cheesemaker near Medford.
A buffet luncheon was served at the home of the bride’s mother.
The young couple left on a weekend trip and will make their home at Medford at the present.
