Mead, Shirley #3 (5 AUG 1942)

A pretty wedding took place in the Spokeville Gospel Tabernacle, Wednesday evening, Aug. 5, 1942, at 6 o’clock, when Miss Shirley Mead, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Mead of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Max Harms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Harms of Owen (Clark Co.).

The bride was becomingly attired in a cream and gren silk jersey suit with a corsage of pink rosebuds. Her bridesmaid wore blue and a regal lily corsage.

The groom and best man wore blue suits.

The wedding march was played by Dorothy Marking of Owen, and “I Love You Truly” was sung by Mrs. Maurice Anderson of Marshfield.

Miss Mead and Mrs. Harms exchanged vows before the Rev. Leo Chapman in front of the pansy, nasturtium and fern decorated altar, surrounded by bouquets of garden and wild flowers, and in the presence of their immediate families and a few intimate friends.

After the wedding, a reception and dinner was held at the home of the bride in Greenwood, with the wedding party as guests.

Mrs. Harms is a graduate of the Greenwood High School, class of 1942. The groom is employed by the Carnation Milk Co. at Owen, where they will be at home to their friends after a brief trip through northern Wisconsin.
