Earl, Edna (2 AUG 1941)

On Saturday, Aug. 2, at three o’clock, Miss Edna Earl, daughter of Fred Earl of Abbotsford, became the bride of Louis Cattanach Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Cattanach Sr. of Owen, in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Ronald E. Ortmayer of St. Katherine’s Episcopal church in Owen.

The bride wore a street length of cadet blue with black accessories. Mrs. Edward Colburn of Argonne attended her in a street dress of tan. Their corsages were of pink roses and sweet peas. Edward Colburn was best man.

Immediate relatives attended a luncheon served at the home of the groom’s parents following the ceremony, Mrs. Fred Earl assisting Mrs. Cattanach. After which the bridal couple left for a weeks stay in Northern Wisconsin.

The bride was graduated from Owen High School and Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point. The past three years she has taught the primary grade in the Goodman school.

Mr. Cattanach attended River Falls Teachers College for a short time after graduating from the Owen High School. He is employed at the Western Condensing Company in Owen, where they will make their home.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Colburn of Argonne, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Earl of Abbotsford.

On Thursday afternoon, July 31, a shower was given for Miss Edna Earl at the L. W. Cattanach home by the original members of the Five Hundred Country club and a few old friends of her mothers. Many lovely gifts were received. Cards were played and lunch served.

Thursday evening Mrs. Bert Cattanach and Miss Jeanie Cattanach entertained at the L. W. Cattanach home in honor of Miss Edna Earl who received many lovely gifts. Five Hundred was played, Mrs. Celand Melbinger receiving high and Mrs. Carl Riber, second. Mrs. B. H. Dike received the bridge award. A lunch was served by the hostesses.
