Haire, Mr./Mrs. James (57th Anni. - 1941)

Mr. and Mrs. James Haire of this city Tuesday evening quietly observed their 57th wedding anniversary by dining out with their son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Haire, and then enjoyed a movie.

Mr. Haire was 80 years young last July 4th, and Mrs. Haire observed her 75th birthday anniversary on last March 19.

They were united in marriage on Sept. 9, 1884, at Moline, Ill. Mrs. Haire recalls that the day was an exact extreme from last Tuesday as the day was hot and summery instead of cold and raw as was last Tuesday. The couple enjoyed a honeymoon trip to Chicago. They came to Owen in 1907 and have made their home in this vicinity ever since for the past 34 years. Until 1918 they lived on a farm just south of the city. However in 1918 they gave up farming and moved to Owen and Mr. Haire worked as a wagon maker for the John S. Owen Lumber Co. and in later years at the Owen Box and Crating Co. For the past eight years they have lived in retirement.

The couple have three children, Herbert of Minneapolis; Rolland of Owen; and Mrs. Nap. (Edna) Cerminara of Philadelphia, Pa.; four grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Their many friends in Owen, Withee and vicinity express their utmost sincerity that they will enjoy many more years of happy wedded life and as fine health as they now enjoy.
