The marriage of Miss Betty Ackerman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ackerman, town of Hoard (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. Clifford Gayken, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Gayken, Hoard, took place Saturday afternoon, at two o’clock, at the Woodland Hotel, Justice of the Peace, O.E. Parkinson performing the ceremony. They had as their attendants, Miss Bernice Ackerman, sister of the bride, and Mr. Eddie Potocnik, a close friend of the groom.

The bride’s dress was of yellow silk crepe, street length, with black accessories. While her sister wore a pale blue dress with black accessories. The groom and best man wore dark suits with carnations in the lapel of their coats. The bride carried a corsage of pink and white carnations.

After the ceremony a dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents by Mrs. O. Austin and Mrs. Martha Harmel. The table was decorated with a large pink and white wedding cake in the center with tall pink and white candles.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Wagon wheel. The young couple will make their home with the bride’s parents.

Those from away who were in attendance at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Lee Gayken, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Peissig and son, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peissig, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. O. Austin, Superior.
