Miss Ruby E. Afkend, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marten Afkend of Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), and Staff Sgt. Louis B. Edwards, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer E. Edwards of Owen (Clark Co.), were married Monday, April 5th, 1943, at 2:30 p.m. in the Methodist Church at Clovis, N.M., where the bridegroom is stationed. Rev. Bailey performed a double ring ceremony.
A pale blue suit with navy blue accessories was worn by the bride.
The bride was attended by Mrs. Alfred Stringfellow, who wore a navy blue suit with white accessories. Sgt Stringfellow, who is also stationed at the Army Air Base, served as best man. The Stringfellows are from Hampton, Arkansas.
