Hebert, William L. (20 AUG 1865 – 17 JUL 1941)

William Louis Hebert was born August 20, 1865 at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and passed away at 9:30 Thursday evening, July 17, 1941 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Meacham.

Mr. Hebert came to this community with his parents, Anthony and Julia Hebert in 1872, settling near Romeo.

On October 28, 1891 he was united in marriage to Mabel Pickett, and went to reside on the farm which was to be their home until after Mrs. Hebert’s death on December 24, 1937. After the death of his wife, Mr. Hebert made his home with his sons and daughters, who were always glad to have him with them.

Mr. Hebert leaves two daughters, Myrtle (Mrs. Fred Meacham), Town of Unity, Edna (Mrs. Frank Bishop) of Riplinger, and four sons, Lloyd, of Town of Unity, Forrest, Glenn and Harry of Riplinger. He also leaves nineteen grandchildren and two great- grandchildren, one brother, Joseph of Bear Creek, one brother-in-law, Lynn Pickett of Riplinger and a sister-in-law, Mrs. S. M. Pickett of the Town of Unity, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the Fred Meacham home at 2:30 Sunday Rev. Jewell of Loyal officiating.

Pall bearers were the sons, Lloyd, Forrest, Glenn and Harry and the sons-in-law, Frank Bishop, and Fred Meacham. Floral tributes were carried by four granddaughters, Mrs. Christian Oestreich, Birdine Meacham, Fern Bishop, and Ruby Hebert.

Interment in the West Spencer Cemetery.
