The Green Grove Lutheran Church was the scene of a candlelight wedding performed at 6 o’clock Thursday evening, July 24, when Miss Esther Anna Tessmer of Colby exchanged marriage vows with Harold Leroy Horn, son of Mrs. Ida Horn of Greenwood.

The Rev. M. C. Goetsch performed the ceremony before an altar adorned with baskets of flowers. Mrs. Goetsch presided at the organ for the playing of the wedding march from Lohengrin. Miss Adaline Goetsch brought the services to a close with the singing of “O Perfect Love”.

Miss Lorinda Horn of Chicago, sister of the bridegroom, was maid of honor, and Miss Lenora Tesmer of Milwaukee, sister of the bride, bridesmaid. Bernard Tesmer of Colby, brother of the bride, and Kenneth Herman of Colby attended the groom.

The bride wore a gown of white mousseline de soie velveray, princess style, with puffed sleeves, a sweetheart neckline, tiny buttons extending to the waistline, and a long train. Her finger-tip veil of silk illusion fell from a tiara of orange blossoms and was edged in Chantilly lace. She carried an all white bouquet of gladiolas, asters, and baby breath. Miss lorinda horn wore a gown of pink sheer net with puffed sleeves and light blue ribbon trim. Miss Lenora Tesmer chose a gown of light blue embroidered net, princess style, with a short jacket and puffed sleeves. Each wore a matching shoulder length veil and headdress, and a corsage of mixed flowers.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride’s home and a 6:30 o’clock dinner was served to immediate relatives.

Crepe paper and garden flowers were used as decorations for the house, and the soft glow of candlelight played upon the large wedding cake centering the table. A miniature bride and groom topped the cake, which was rested on a large glass stand used for the same purpose at the wedding of the groom’s mother and grandmother.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Wiedenhoeft park at Colby. The newlyweds took a trip to Minnesota and Michigan. They are at home to their friends on the groom’s mother’s farm near Greenwood where he is employed. The bride has been employed in Milwaukee for the past two years. The young couple have our best wishes.
