Riley, Frances Louise (Marriage - 1950)

Of interest to friends in the community will be the wedding of Miss Frances Louise Riley, the youngest daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Riley of Dana, Illinois, and Richard D. Biery, son of Mrs. J. R. Biery and the late Dr. Biery of Peoria.

Rev. Riley formerly was pastor of the Colby and Unity Methodist Churches. He read the ceremony for his daughter, who was escorted to the altar by her brother, Arthur. Donald Riley sang “Always” and “The Lord’s Prayer.”

The bride was gowned in a dress made with fitted chantilly lace bodice with sweetheart neckline and a flared skirt of silk marquisette over slipper satin with full court train. Her fingertip veil was fastened with a tiara of seed pearls. Her bouquet was a cascade of white carnations with an orchid nestled in the throat of the bouquet which she wore on her yellow going away suit.

Mrs. Rodney Fuller of Unity attended her sister as matron of honor and she wore an orchid taffeta gown. She carried a colonial bouquet of white, yellow and pink carnations.

Kenneth Biery of Greenich, Conn., attended his brother.

A reception was held in the church basement before the couple left on a trip to Canada, Niagara Falls and New York. They will reside at 1411 Knoxville Ave. in Peoria.

The bride attended Colby High School and was in her senior year at Bradley University. She is employed in the lab at Bemis Bag Co. and the groom is employed at the Caterpillar Tractor Co.
