Mueller, Wilhelmina (10 Nov. 1851 – 30 July 1950)

Mrs. Wilhelmina Mueller died at the home of her grand son, Walter Loos, at midnight Sunday, July 30, after she suffered a stroke Friday and after being ill five weeks. Funeral services were held at the First Ev. and Reformed church, Rev. F. P. Puhlmann officiating. Internment was made at Kiel. Grand sons were pall bearers and flowers were in charge of grand daughters.

Mrs. Mueller was born in Mexico, Germany, on Nov. 10, 1851, and would have been 99 years old next November. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of two years. They settled at Kiel, where she was united in marriage in 1870 to Frederick Voelker and engaged in farming there until they retired and moved to Rockville. Her husband died in 1924, and, in 1928, she married Ferdinand Mueller at Peshtigo where they made their home. Mr. Mueller died in 1937. For the past six years, Mrs. Mueller made her home with her grand son, Walter Loos of Colby.

Surviving are five children – Wm. Voelker, August Voelker and Mrs. Anna Loos, all of Colby, and Herman Voelker and Mrs. Helena Stoelting of Kiel. There are 20 grand children, 61 great grand children and 37 great, great grand children. One son preceded his mother in death.

The deceased was a good Christian of a congenial and friendly disposition. None ever entered her home without feeling the warm welcome nor left without feeling the warmth of genuine hospitality, so characteristic of her ancestry. Old age did not destroy the charm of a kind and indulgent disposition for she was active in mind and body until five weeks ago when she became ill.
