Clark W. Adams, father of Otis C. Adams, who publishes this paper, passed away at the home of another son, A. L. Adams, in Abbotsford early Tuesday morning at the age of 71 years and 9 months.

The departed was born in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, October 4, 1860, and at the age of seven years moved with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Artemus Adams to Auroraville, Wis., where he grew to manhood. March 17, 1879, he was united in marriage to Frances A. Shumway, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Shumway, also of that community.

Four children were born to this union, Ervin now in Iowa, Mrs. Jack (Anna) Oshia of San Antonia, Texas and Ardin and Otis of Abbotsford, who with 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, three brothers and one sister, nephews and nieces, survive. His wife preceding him in death at Hancock in 1928.

For the past forty years he had been a resident of Hancock, Wis., with the exception of a few years spent at Ladysmith.

About three months ago he came to Abbotsford to make his home where he resided until the time of his death.

Short services were conducted at the home Thursday morning, July 7th, by the Rev. L. C. Smith, after which the remains, accompanied by the relatives here, were taken to Hancock, where services were held from the Congregational church in that city, conducted by Rev. A. W. Cook, pastor of the church, with interment in the family lot in the Hancock cemetery.

The services at Hancock were attended by a large number of friends and former neighbors of the family. Relatives from away attending were Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Lyall Adams and little daughter and Carol and George Adams of Fond du Lac, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Adams and two daughters of Wautoma, Mrs. Mela Gehrke, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Erdman and daughter and Albert Peck of Berlin, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Leischer of Oshkosh, Norman Montaney of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Adams and family, Mr. and Mrs. Orson Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Adams and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Peterson and son of Abbotsford and John Shumway of Big Flats.
