Horn-Richmond

The West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church, Greenwood, provided the setting at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 30, 1951, when Miss Lila Ann Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Richmond, became the bride of Herbert Robert Horn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Horn, all of Greenwood.

Officiating at the nuptial ceremony was the Rev. J. Grether, Neillsville.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, chose a sheer marquisette gown featuring a wide ruffle of lace accenting the sweetheart yoke. A double row of the matching lace formed an apron-effect at the gathered skirt which extended into a long train. Her finger-tip veil accented with rhinestones was held in place by a beaded rhinestone crown and she carried a bouquet of red roses and white sweet peas tied with a white ribbon and streamers.

Attending the bride were her sister, Mrs. Norman Horn, Wausau, as matron of honor, and Eldora Reineking, Greenwood, and Mrs. Donald Horn, also of Greenwood, cousin of the groom, who were gowned alike in white brocaded silk marquisette over pink satin, yellow satin and green satin, respectively. Each wore matching headpieces and carried fan - shaped bouquets of yellow roses and white sweet peas.

Norman Horn, Wausau, brother of the groom, served as best man. Two cousins of the groom, Duane and Donald Horn, Greenwood, were groomsmen, and Jerald Richmond, the bride's brother, and Glenn Horn, cousin of the groom, ushered.

Judy Stanke, Wausau, niece of the groom, was dressed identically to the bride, when she filled the role of flower girl. She carried a small fan-shaped bouquet of white gladioli and sweet peas.

Mothers of the bride and groom were dressed in navy blue sheer print frocks with white accessories. Each had a corsage of white carnations.

Dinner was served in the church basement and the reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. In the evening a dance was held at the Silver Dome.

Both the bride and groom are graduates of Greenwood High School, and she is employed as a secretary there.The groom is employed on a farm northwest of Greenwood, where the couple will reside, when they return from a trip in northern Wisconsin.

Guest at the wedding were from Barrington, Ill., Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ripon, Humbird, Chippewa Falls, Wausau, Neillsville, Owen, Withee, and Greenwood.
