Surnames: Hibbard, Bogie, Smith, Kasper, Pech, Molle, Rannow, Meyer, Ebert, Steinwand, Goetz, Olson, Bane, Schultz, Markus, Whitney, Klaar, Bender, Tennis Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 11/08/1951 Hibbard, Adeline (23 Dec. 1867 – 2 Nov. 1951) Mrs. Adeline Hibbard of Colby died Friday morning, Nov. 2, in a hospital in Whitewater, Walworth county, Wisconsin, after an illness of one year and one month, a stroke and complications being the cause of her departure. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Colby, Rev. F. J. Smith officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. Pall bearers were Harold Kasper, Joe Pech, Herman Molle, Otto Rannow, Frank Meyer and Will Ebert. Flowers were in charge of Ann Steinwand, Janice Goetz, Janet Olson, Margaret Bane, Grace Schultz and JoAnne Markus. Music was by Audrey Whitney, Annabelle Klaar and Barbara Bender. Adeline Bogie was born in Rome, Jefferson county, on December 23, 1867, thus reaching the age of 83 years, 10 months and four days. She was married on Dec. 28, 1885, to Wallace Hibbard in Maple Grove, Wis., to which union four children were born. Mr. Hibbard died on June 19, 1935. In 1916, they moved onto a farm in Clark, near Unity, where they lived. In 1944, Mrs. Hibbard moved to the Colby community. Surviving are three sons, Elmo Hibbard, Reeseville, Earl Hibbard of Lake Mills and Harlowe Hibbard of Colby; a daughter, Mrs. S. P. (Jessie) Tennis of Kimberly; two brothers, Richard Bogie of East Troy and Royal Bogie of Beloit; six grand children and one great grand child. Mrs. Hibbard was a faithful member of the Methodist church and was prominent in the Women’s Society and R.N.A. She was a past oracle of the latter organization. She was well and favorably known for her honest and congenial disposition. A perfect lady at all times, she had the friendship and respect of all who were so fortunate to be acquainted with her.
