Hugoboom, for the past few years proprietor of the Central House, has sold out his business to Mr. L. Smith, of Little Black, who has already taken charge of the same. Mr. Smith wishes to inform the traveling public that he will run his hotel in a first-class style. A good livery is operated in connection with the hotel. C. A. Fessler and Geo. W. Sommers made a business trip to Abbotsford, last Wednesday. Mr. Sommers was to appear as attorney in place of E. H. Schweppe, of Medford, for the plaintiff in the case of Jos. Leichtnam vs. R. B. Salter & Co. The case was adjourned to Saturday, June 8, 1895, at 10 o’clock in the forenoon, when a jury trial will be had before Justice Meyers. Mr. H. Hugoboom and family have started on an extended pleasure trip to Ashland and other places. They expect to be abroad for 3 or 4 weeks. On Thursday of last week our Constable C. A. Fessler celebrated his birthday. He was serenaded by the Juvenile Band under direction of Prof. Alois Kronschnabl, and a jolly time was had by all parties present. Paul Blanc, W. Schmitt and several others made a fishing trip to Westboro, last Monday, from where they returned on Wednesday with a good lot of fish. The new addition to Rev. Miller’s residence is already under roof and by the end of next week it will be ready for occupancy. Decorations Day will be celebrated in grand style this year.
