B. Salter transacted business at Medford, yesterday. Andrew Ditlmeier, of Curtiss, was in the city, Tuesday. A ladies high grade bicycle, 28 inch wheels, for sale cheap, enquire at this office. Wm. Wenzel and John Biell drove a couple head of stock to Medford, Tuesday. Saloon licenses expire on the first Tuesday of July, which this year comes on the fifth. Fred Roth has a new sidewalk laid in front of his residence and shop on Spence street. Miss Nina Bevier went to Park Falls, last Saturday, to visit for a few days, among friends. Mrs. W. L. Parkhill and daughter, Mrs. Hoseley, of Thorp, were visiting in the city, this week. Remember that Henry Meyers opens the picnic season at Green Grove Park, next Sunday, the 12th. Wm. Hazard, a traveling man on this line the years gone by, was in the city Thursday evening. The Wisconsin Telephone Company’s poles have been set and the wires stretched through this city. Mrs. Conrad went to Fond du Lac, last week, where she will remain for a short time visiting her sister. H. J. Cade has furnished some very handsome trimmings for the cozy porch at R. B. Salter’s residence. Guy Potter was over from Neillsville, over Sunday visiting his father and numerous former schoolmates. Peter Heid came up from Appleton, Thursday, to confer with J. E. Lyons regarding the business here. G. J. Kaudy of the Colby Manufacturing Co. went to St. Paul, Monday, to transact business for the firm. Picnics will be held next Sunday, the 12th, as follows: At Dill Creek Park, at Green Grove Park and at Eder’s corner.
