Elias, Elizabeth (MAR 1944)

The following account of the wedding of Capt. Wm. McEachern of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) and Miss Elizabeth Elias of Omaha, Neb., is taken from an Omaha paper:

The Fort Crook Chapel was the setting for the military wedding Saturday evening at eight o’clock of Miss Elizabeth Elias, daughter of Mrs. Olive T. Elias of Omaha, and Dr. Francis Elias of Wymore, and Capt. William E. McEachern of Fort Crook, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William A. McEachern of Thorp, Wis. Chaplain Wilbur Small performed the ceremony.

Capt. Robert W. Lofgren served as best man and Capt. James L. Lantis and Lt. Robert M. Elliott were ushers. Lts. L.F. Minke, K.F. Hoover, James McCartney, J.L. Rommel, H.H. Hazlet, H.L. Butterfield, R.T. Eberts and J.W. Irwin formed an arch with crossed sabers as the bridal couple left the chapel following the ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by Maj. I.J. Kish, wore an ivory failee gown with long train and a finertip ivory net veil with a tiara of seed pearls. She carried pale yellow roses centered with a white orchid. The bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. Robert A. Elliott of Thorp, Wis., as matron of honor, wore a heaven blue silk jersey and net gown with a matching net calot trimmed with tiny blue flowers. She carried deep pink roses.

Spring flowers decorated the service table for the reception in the Fort Crook Officer’s Club. Out of town guests were the bridegroom’s parents.

Following a week long wedding trip to Minneapolis and at the bridegroom’s home in Thorp, Wis., Capt. McEachern and his bride will reside in Omaha.
