Obit: Placzkowski, Andrew (1857 – 1944)
Surnames: Placzkowski, Kenney, Knopp, Galinski, Bielecki Source: THORP COURIER (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 05/25/1944 Placzkowski, Andrew (13 DEC 1857 – 21 MAY 1944) Andrew Placzkowski, retired farmer, passed away at his home in the town of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday, May 21, 1944 of old age infirmities. He had reached the age of 86 years. Mr. Placzkowski was born in Poland Dec. 13, 1857 and came to America 63 years ago. He was united in marriage to Tina Kenney in November, 1879 at Moncremel, Pa. He came to Thorp in 1892 and this has since been his home. Mrs. Placzkowski passed away in July 1938. Surviving are one son, Louie of Thorp; three daughters, Elsie (Mrs. Knopp) of St. Paul, Anna (Mrs. Joe Galinski), Neillsville, and Verna (Mrs. Frank Bielecki) of Thorp, twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Church at nine o’clock Wednesday morning, Rev. F. Piekarski officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery. |
