Binning, Mr./Mrs. Herbert (55th Anniv. – 28 Sept. 1958)

The 55th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Binning was observed Sunday at the Methodist Church with a large crowd present.

At 4:00 P.M. a program was given in the church auditorium; the program was as follows:

Group singing, “Blest Be the Tie That Binds”

A talk and prayer by Rev. David Passet

Baritone solo “O Perfect Love” by Rev. Passet

Solo, “I’ll Walk Beside You” Rae Ann Loughead

Group singing, “What a Friend we Have in Jesus”

Two solos by Syrl Andrews who accompanied herself on the ukulele “Just a Closer Walk With Thee” and “It is no Secret”

A reading “Ma and I” by Mrs. Lawrence Nipko

Solo by Ted Domer “The Love of God”

Group “The Old Rugged Cross”

Mrs. Thomas Loughead was accompanist throughout the program

After the program the group gathered in the church parlors in the basement for a social hour of visiting and renewing old acquaintances and all were served a glass of punch by Lynn Ann Anderson, Billie Binning and Sandra Erickson who presided at the punch bowl.

A table was arranged for the honored couple and their immediate family and the table was centered by a large beautifully decorated cake. The rest of the guests were served cafeteria style.

Among the out of town guests were Mrs. Merle Anderson and family, Mr. Duane Fisher, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Binning and LeRoy, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Capes, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Capes and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Binning and daughters, Marshfield; Rev. and Mrs. David Passet and Miss Syrl Andrews, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Binning and sons, Oakfield; Mrs. Cora Binning and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Binning and family, Brownsville; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lydickson, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Blair, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ravey, Plainfield; Miss Rae Ann Loughead, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Don Anderson, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schultz, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Alnus, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crossgrove, Colby; Dr. and Mrs. Robert Binning, Fond du Lac; besides a host of local friends.

Many gifts of money and other gifts were presented the honored couple.
