Friday 11/06/1959 Mabbott, Orra (16 Nov. 1864 – 2 Nov. 1959) Mrs. George Mabbott, who would have been 95 on November 16th, of Oshkosh, a former resident of Unity, passed away at the Bethel Convalescent Home, Arpin, at 5:30 P.M. Monday of old age complications. The body is reposing at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Passet officiating. Burial in the Unity cemetery. Orra Stearns was born at Kilbourn, November 16, 1864 and received her education in the public schools. She was married to George Mabbott at Kilbourn December 24, 1880. In 1912 they moved to a farm in the Town of Brighton and moved to Unity in 1931. Mr. Mabbott passed away in March, 1938. She went to Oshkosh in 1947 to live with her daughter and went to reside at the Bethel Home about two months ago. She was a member of the Unity Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Engle, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Addie Stinson, Oshkosh; and one son, B. W. Mabbott, Unity. There are also 17 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Ernest Matson of Hastings, Nebraska sang “Face To Face” and Mrs. Rodney Fuller sang “God Will Take Care of You” accompanied by Mrs. Tom Loughead at the piano. A. Cook, Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Capes and daughters, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Andrews, Spencer; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Cook, Marathon City; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Meacham and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Crossgrove, Colby.
