Monarski, Martha Jane (Marriage – 11 Nov. 1930)

The marriage of Martha Jane Monarski and Thomas Clarence Dolan took place on Tuesday November 11th at 9:00 a.m. in the beautiful new Sacred Heart Church at Eau Claire, the Rev. Father F. X. Orthen performing the ceremony after which followed the Solemn High Mass sung by Father Paul Monarski of Prairie du Chien, a brother of the bride as celebrant, Father McGuire of Abbotsford as deacon, Father A. Dall of Hartford as sub-deacon and Father Orthen as Master of Ceremonies.

The church was beautifully decorated with ferns, palms and lighted tapers and chrysanthemums forming an arch in the sanctuary of the church, where the bride and groom knelt throughout the ceremony.

The bridal procession entered the church led by William Dolan and Anthony Monarski who acted as ushers. Then followed the bridesmaid, Miss Monica Monarski and Leonard Dolan of Milwaukee who was best man. The flower girls were little Dorothy and Rita Monarski of Chicago. The bride and groom entered last into the church filled with guests and friends.

The bride’s dress was of heavy satin with a flowing skirt of lace which reached the floor. Her veil was cap-shape with a coronet of lace and pearls. A large shower bouquet of roses and lilies of the valley completed her beautiful attire.

The bridesmaid’s dress was pink satin and she wore a large meline hat. The flower girls were dressed alike in yellow georgette.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home which was followed by a sumptuous dinner.

The bride and groom left on a short trip through Wisconsin, and are now at home with the Peter Dolan family.

Numerous pre-nuptial affairs were held in honor of the young couple in Eau Claire at which they were the recipients of beautiful gifts.
