At an early age Mr. Graffunder came to America and about 44 years ago settled on the farm where he resided up to the time of his death. On December 2, 1894, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds of Dorchester and to this union were born six children: Henry of Milan, Jessie of Phillips, Archie of Athens, Helen (Mrs. Alfred Dake) of Milan and Gayhardt and Bennie of Dorchester. There are also two stepsons, Fred Reynolds of Dorchester and John Reynolds of Mosinee. All were present at the funeral services. Mr. Graffunder was a good husband and father and a kind neighbor, a man who will be greatly missed by the entire community. By hard work and strict attention to his own affairs he cleared and built up a fine farm for his family and was active in making this part of the country the beautiful place it now is. Funeral services were held at the Ev. Lutheran Church in Milan Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Geo. Grob officiating. Internment was made in the Lutheran cemetery north of Milan. The floral tributes were many and beautiful and were in charge of Violet and Grace Reynolds, Helen Skervin and Irene Kramer. Pall bearers were Leo and Otto Denzin, Charles Schultz, Joseph Beil, Simon Johnson and George Sterling. Attending the funeral from away besides the children and families were Mr. and Mrs. Lurning and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gees of Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar of Oshkosh.
