Huber, Amelia (22 Dec. 1876 – 1 Sept. 1963)

SPENCER – Mrs. Amelia Huber, 76, Spencer, died at 4 o’clock this morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted as a patient several weeks ago.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Randolph Mueller officiating and burial will be made in the West Spencer Cemetery. Beginning this evening the body will repose at the Swarthout Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Thursday when it will be taken to the church.

Mrs. Huber was born Dec. 22, 1876, in Czechoslovakia and came to this country with her parents when four years old. They settled on a farm outside of Spencer, where she lived until her marriage to Wenzel Huber on Oct. 7, 1900, at Spencer. After this date she moved to Neillsville and lived there four years before moving to the town of Brighton. Later she moved into the village of Spencer. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Her husband preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1949.

Nine children survive. They are Edward, Charles, Arthur, Peter, Mrs. Martin (Frieda) Hoops, Mrs. William (Sophia) Oelrich, Mrs. Ray (Ella) Matter, and Mrs. Rudolph (Vera) Schweke, all of Spencer, and Mrs. Orville (Ada) Taylor, Dorchester. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
