Riverside Happenings

Miss Dollie Prosser left Wednesday for Fond du Lac where she will visit relatives and friends.

Endeavor meeting, Friday evening, Jan. 17th, Leader Leslie Dickinson; Mission study class following.

Last Wednesday John Dankemeyer while hauling logs, fell and fractured a rib besides receiving other injuries. He is slowly improving under the care of Dr. Andrews.

Who won the banners for the best average attendance and collections? Why, the Christian Soldiers, of course. Who are they? They are the Young Men’s class. Will they win next time? Time will tell.

Mr. and Mrs. Fiebig entertained the following trustees and their wives, and Elders and their wives of the Riverside church: Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Mantor; Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Parkhill; Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Dickinson; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Thygesson and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Evans, also Rev. and Mrs. J. C. Martin of Abbotsford, at an oyster supper at their home Tuesday evening. Supper was served at six o’clock after which the trustees held their regular business meeting and the ladies spent the time in visiting.

Mrs. H. H. Fiebig entertained the Riverside Ladies’ Aid last Wednesday afternoon. There were nearly forty present, including the children. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Pres. – Mrs. Edith Cramer; Vice Pres. – Mrs. Francis Prosser; Sec’y – Mrs. Jennie Dickinson; Treas. – Mrs. N. S. Parkhill. Three new members were taken in, and outlook for the coming year is very bright. The next meeting will be held with Mrs. Pohlman, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 8th, as they voted to hold their meetings once a month during the cold weather.

Last Saturday evening a number of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Merwin Jr. friends surprised them at their new home, the occasion being their third wedding anniversary. The evening was pleasantly spent in games after which a lunch was served. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Ben Merwin Sr. and family; Mrs. Francis Prosser; Misses Myrtle and Dollie Prosser; Mr. and Mrs. George Cendt; Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Mantor and family; Mr. and Mrs. Clint Washburn and Master Ralph; Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Evans and family; Melvin Mantor, and Ernest Merwin.
