Market Day on the 14th, was a marked success and will go down in the history as one of the biggest days our little town ever saw. By noon all the barn room in town was taken by the farmer’s teams and the streets were lined on both sides with teams that could not find room in the barns. The exhibits, which were limited only to grains and vegetables, were good and there were plenty of them. The Committee put on some races in the afternoon and after the prizes were awarded the crowd started to leave for home, everyone agreeing that our little town is just as alive as any of them. The dance in the evening was well attended and the music furnished by the Clifton Harp Orchestra was pronounced by all to be as good as any. P.S. – Will Hickok bought a cow at the auction last Saturday and he is looking for a set of false teeth for her.
