Obit: Pribbernow, Albert Friedrich (1855 - 1929)
Surnames: Dorshe, Goetsch, Hennlich, Marquardt, Pribbernow, Schuhmann, Tonn, Wanke Source: The Curtiss Advance, Wednesday, January 8, 1930 Pribbernow, Albert Friedrich (March 3, 1855 - December 25, 1929) Obituary of Albert Friedrich Pribbernow Mr. Albert Friedrich Pribbernow passed away a the home of his daughter, Mrs. Arthur Tonn on Christmas day Dec. 25th following an illness of 36 hours durations. Death was due to intestinal obstruction. Deceased was a native of Germany where he was born on the 3rd of March 1855 in the province of Pommern near the city of Stettin. In the year 1872 he emigrated to America ****bad copy**** U.S. locating at Iron Ridge, Dodge Co., Wis. Four years later he move to the Town of Green Grove 2 miles Southwest of Curtiss where by diligent labor and economy he built up a nice farm and home. He was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Schuhmann in the year 18 ****bad copy, appears to be 1880**** to which union 10 children were born, 6 sons and 4 daughters, one son and one daughter, Mrs. Adelea Dorsch preceded him in death. The time of his earthly sojourn amounted to 74 years, 9 months and 22 days. He is survived by his wife, five sons and 3 daughters and one aged sister Mrs. Ferdinand Marquardt of Colby; besides 20 grand-children and one great-grandchild. The surviving children are; Aug. Pribbernow of Rib Lake; Arthur Pribbernow, Portland, Oregon; Mrs. Lena Tonn; Mrs. Hattie Wanke and Mrs. Alvina Hennlich all of Curtiss; Ernest Pribbernow of Milwaukee and Adolph at home. Mr. Pribbernow was a member of St. Paul’s congregation at Green Grove for 45 years and was prominent to township affairs during his residence in this community and served a number of years as chairman also as assessor. Funeral services were conducted at the Curtiss Lutheran church Saturday afternoon Dec. 28th by Rev. Goetsch. He was laid to rest at the Green Grove cemetery. Six nephews were pall-bearers; Fred and Arthur Laabs, Frank and Emil Buss and Herman and Chas. Marquardt. |
