Obit: Kranz, Gerard “Jerry” (? – 2008)
Surnames: Kranz, Graves, Steinbring, Marshall, Morgan, Pace Source: Clark County Press (Neillsville, Clark Co., WI) April 16, 2008 Kranz, Gerard “Jerry” (? – 8 April 2008) Gerard (Jerry) Kranz, 80, died peacefully April 8, 2008, at his home in the Town of Levis, Neillsville, after a struggle with cancer. Jerry moved to Neillsville from Hastings, MN, in 1966, when he and Dixie Graves Steinbring were united in marriage. From this union they had two sons, Joey (Michelle) Kranz and Patric (Sarah) Kranz, both of Neillsville. Six children from a previous marriage live in Minnesota. They are Sharon, Sandra, Michael, Marty, Sharlene and Theodore. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters of Minnesota, and three stepchildren, Lana Steinbring Marshall and Rodney Steinbring of Neillsville and Jarja Steinbring Morgan of Plano, TX. He served two years in military service in the Navy Coast Guard. He was mayor of Hastings, MN, for seven years until he resigned and moved to Neillsville. He was also elected town chairman of Levis, for which he served four years. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, fishing and boating. He was an avid (Viking) football fan. He loved his family and their children. He will be greatly missed by them and his many friends. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 17, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. Father Stephen Kranz of Mandaree, ND, brother of Gerard “Jerry” will officiate along with Father Woodrow Pace. Interment will follow at Dells Dam Cemetery with military rights immediately following the church service. Following the interment, there will be a time of togetherness at the Arbutus Sports Club, with food and refreshments for family and friends.
