Devine, Dorothy (5 AUG 1944)

Miss Dorothy Devine of New Holstein, Wis. and Paul Tormey of Cedarburg, son of Mrs. Violet Tormey of Cedarburg, were united in marriage at 10:00 Saturday morning at Cascade, Wis. The ceremony was performed by Rev. C.J. Schouten in the parsonage of St. Mary’s Church.

The bride, the only daughter of Lawrence and the late Marvel Peterson Devine, formerly of Mitchell, was attired in a simple afternoon dress of white silk jersey, with it she wore matching accessories, and a single orchid at her shoulder.

The only attendants of the couple were Miss Catherine Tormey of Cedarburg, sister of the groom, whose flowers were gardenias, and Thomas Devine of Sheboygan, brother of the bride.

A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Gladys Salter, Cascade, to sixteen guests, including above names, also Miss Marilyn Miller of Plymouth, Miss Rosella Cooney of Sheboygan, Miss George Peterson of Waldo, Mrs. Ed Gahagan and Dean Devine of Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Steinke, Jean and Gary, of Cascade.

Decorations of the home were bouquets of gladiolas, sweet peas and phlox.

The groom’s mother and Mrs. Salter wore corsages of red roses.

Mr. and Mrs. Tormey left in the afternoon for a short honeymoon trip, the destination of which was note made known. They will be at home after August 20th, at 304 Fair St., Cedarburg, where the groom has a position with the Kieckhaefer Corp. Before her marriage the bride was employed in the office of the Lauson Co. at New Holstein. Both are high school
