Surnames: Augustine, Stadler, Luitink Source: OWEN ENTERPRISE (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) 03/26/1942 Augustine, Melba (07 MAR 1942) Miss Melba Augustine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Augustine of Oconto, and Arthur Stadler Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stadler of Owen, were united in marriage by the Rev. Thomas Smart at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 7. The couple was attended by Miss Eleanor Augustine, a sister of the bride, and Thomas J. Luitink of Milwaukee, a brother in law of the groom. The bride was attired in a navy blue redingote trimmed with white and wore navy and white accessories. Her shoulder corsage was composed of white camellias and pink baby rose buds. The bridesmaid wore a silver grey dress trimmed with carnation red and wore navy accessories. Red and white carnations made up her corsage. Mrs. Augustine, mother of the bride, was attired in a grey floral print silk jersey dress. Her corsage was of daffodils and yellow roses and mixed flowers. Mrs. Stadler, mother of the groom, wore a dress of tropic aqua color with a corsage similar to that of the bride’s mother. Following the ceremony a five o’clock dinner was served to members of the immediate families at the Parker House. A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents at seven o’clock. The color scheme of the decorations was aqua blue, white and peach. The young couple left on a wedding trip to Lake Chetek where they will spend a week. They will make their home in Owen. The bride has been employed as a stenographer in Milwaukee for the past two years and the groom has been employed as a commercial artist in Chicago for the past four years. Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Stadler of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Luitink, Mrs. Eldred Strebe and son, Kit, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Boeshaar, James Boeshaar, Miss Leona Breit, Miss Olive Breit, Walter Stadler of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. James Hammet of Crivitz; and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Augustine of Pound. |
