Surnames: Gabriel, Cody, Lyons, Will, Miller, Artman, Baker Source: Colby Phonograph (Colby, Clark County, Wis.) 05/28/1914 Gabriel, Anton (Arrested – 22 May 1914) Anton Gabriel of the town of Hull was arrested Friday evening, by Marshall Cody on a charge of shooting at his wife during a family quarrel. Marshal Cody, assisted by A. M. Baker, took him to Wausau, by auto, Saturday, on request of the district attorney. On Monday Mrs. Gabriel accompanied by Rev. H. J. Artman, J. E. Lyons and Wm. Will, autoed to Wausau, to get her husband back. A hearing was held before judge Miller, and the defendant and wife both testified that he only shot in the air to scare her. After giving both a good talking to, the judge discharged the case, and Anton returned home with his wife. |
