In a nuptial high mass celebrated Saturday morning, Aug. 4th, 1945 in St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) by Rev. Father Piekarski, Miss Shirley Ann Telford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vilas Telford of Thorp became the bride of Frank Wittek, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wittek of Lublin. The ceremony took place before an altar beautifully decorated with roses and palms.

The bride wore a gown composed of white satin waist with long sleeves and chiffon skirt with long train. She wore a headdress of seed pearls and a fingertip veil edged in lace. Around her neck was a gold cross, the gift of the groom and she carried a white prayer book and a bouquet of carnations and gardenia.

Attending the couple were Donald Telford, brother of the bride, as best man, and Clara Szatalowicz, as bridesmaid, who was dressed in blue.

Miss Adeline Telford, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor, and was dress in gold and yellow satin with a net skirt.

Other attending couples were Alfred Telford and Donna LaFlex, Joseph Nowicki and Frances Malinowski, Marion Cwiklinski and Lillian Nowicki. The bridesmaids wore dresses of pink, aqua blue and light green respectively. Little Mary Ann Malinowski dressed in a white brocaded dress with net, served as flower girl. She and the bridesmaids wore gold crosses, gifts of the bride. The groom and his attendants wore tuxedos. Ushers were Marion Igras and Fr. Sandel.

A large reception to the couple was given at the P.N.A. Hall in Thorp, where dinner and supper was served to about 150 guests and dance enjoyed in the evening.

The bride has been employed as assistant chemist at the Blue Moon Food’s plant at Thorp and the groom is engaged in farming. They will be at home to their many friends at their farm at Clark.
