Van Why, Helen (29 SEP 1945)

Forrest Burrington and Miss Helen Van Why, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Van Why of East Stroudsburg, Pa., were united in marriage at the Reseburg Congregational Church on Saturday, Sept. 29, 1945, at twelve o’clock noon. Rev. Walter Spencer officiated at the double ring ceremony.

Miss Van Why was attired in a white satin gown with fingertip veil. Her flowers were of white gladiola and dahlias. She was escorted to the altar by Arthur Bobb, brother-in-law of the groom. Mrs. Donald Marshall accompanied by Miss Marjorie Marshall at the organ, sang “I Love You Truly” and “O Promise Me.”

The couple was attended by Kenneth Bobb as best man and Mrs. Kenneth Bobb, bridesmaid. Mrs. Bobb wore a pink marquisette and lace dress and carried a bouquet of pink dahlias and snapdragons.

The groom wore his army uniform and his attendant wore the conventional blue.

A reception to the couple was held at the Arthur Bobb home in Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), where their many friends gathered to wish them well.

The groom is a surveyor and they will make their home in Stockton, Calif.

Out of town guests at the wedding were: Mrs. Mary Frank, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Owen and son, of Spencer, Alice Bobb, LaCrosse, P.J. Marshall and daughter Marjorie of Cadott, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hardy of Withee, Rev. and Mrs. Walter Spencer of Owen.
